Summer Vacations: How to choose East Coast vs. West Coast?

We have suggested some of our favorite east coast and west coast resorts that offer everything and anything you could ever want on summer vacation! You just have to decide which coast suits your vacation needs.

 

EAST COAST

If you decide you want to lay on a beach and eat fresh seafood, the east coast will be perfect for you. There are three different destinations that Royal Travel and Tours just adore that will be perfect for your family!

Bluffton, South Carolina

The Montage Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton, South Carolina is designed in a classic, colonial style. This resort has five-star views of the May River, with a luscious lagoon sitting in the middle of the property. The resort offers six different dining experiences, as well as three inviting pools where you and your family can lounge around and enjoy the sunshine. You can enjoy afternoon biking and shopping in nearby villages or visit the Spa Montage to take advantage of their fabulous spa services. If you are looking for more adventurous excursions, they offer alligator-spotting trips and kayaking to nearby Daufuskie Island. Right on site is the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course or if you choose, you are welcome to travel 30 minutes away to Hilton Head Island to play other outstanding courses. This resort offers everything you need for a family vacation of relaxation, rejuvenation and just plain fun!

 

Cape Cod, Massachusetts

The Chatham Bars Inn in Cape Cod, Massachusetts is a beautiful sea-side resort surrounded by the unique town of Chatham. This chic town offers a fantastic array of shops, restaurants, and galleries. During the day, you can either relax on the white-sand private beach or lounge by the beautiful heated pool and jacuzzi. If you choose to take a walk down the beach, there is Chatham lighthouse where you can find seals basking in the sun. There are kid’s clubs for toddlers and tweens where they can spend their morning’s meeting friends and try out lobstering (catching lobsters) for the first time! They offer many activities for you and your family to indulge in together including tennis, bicycling, fishing, boating, and golfing. Before dinner, you and your family can enjoy outdoor games on the lawn. Then complete your night with some classic Cape Cod food in the four different restaurants located on the property. Cape Neddick, Maine

The Cliff House Maine in Cape Neddick, Maine is a perfect family retreat that sits upon a ninety-foot cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The Cliff House Maine can accommodate families of all different sizes and ages as it has spectacular rooms that offer kid-friendly bunk beds! The property has four fantastic dining options that offer breathtaking views and magnificent food. The pool sits right up on the ocean where you and your family can lounge around and admire the views. Right along the water are walking trails that glance over at the Atlantic Ocean. There is a great fitness center and relaxing spa services. Cliff House sits a few miles from the town of Ogunquit where you can find a beach, restaurants and lovely boutiques for shopping. WEST COAST

If you want to look out onto the gorgeous Rocky Mountains or hike trails up to the top, the west coast might be perfect for you! We have recommended three of our favorite west coast location destinations where you can do everything from fishing to hiking to kayaking.

Park City, Utah

The Montage Deer Valley in Park City, Utah is one of the finest mountain resort destinations, especially in the summer! It sits 45 minutes from the airport and less than 10 minutes from Park City’s main street where you can find exquisite shops and restaurants. The Montage has a warm, welcoming vibe toward families that makes you feel right at home. And as you look around taking it all in the resorts scenic views, it will take your breath away. They offer sensational spa services that leave you rejuvenated, as well as indoor and outdoor pools, exquisite dining, and even a bowling alley. There are plenty of activities to do including bike rentals, hot-air ballooning, kayaking, horseback riding, and an assortment of other adventures to keep you and your family busy. Hiking is one of the main attractions here at the Montage, allowing you and your family to explore the famous mountain range and get an incredible view of Park City. Greenough, Montana

The Resort at Paws Up in Greenough, Montana is a luxury Montana resort that sits on a 37,000-acre cattle ranch. The resort provides an easy airport pick-up to safely bring you to Montana’s country-side. Here you and your family can get a real feel for the outdoors, while also staying in beautifully decorated homes or if you prefer, luxury tents. Each home is beautifully decorated and includes a hot tub on the deck and a golf cart parked out front to get around. When visitors choose to stay in the luxury tents, they like to call it “glamping”.  If you choose to participate in “glamping”, the tents are immersed in Montana’s countryside, but also give you access to Wi-Fi if you need to “plugin”. With glamping includes a campfire right outside your front door where you can spend your nights telling stories and eating s’mores. You and your family can spend your vacation participating in many activities like river rafting, shooting ranges, mountain biking, and anything that involves the outdoors. The food and services are impeccable at Paws Up. There are several restaurants around the resort that offer exquisite dining experiences made with the freshest ingredients. Carmel, California

The Carmel Valley Ranch in Carmel, California is the perfect escape for you and your family to the peaceful California countryside. The ranch offers numerous adventures for you and your family to embark on. Beekeeping is one of the most interesting and fun activities you can do at the ranch.
